Happy Halloween!!

Happy Halloween to everyone!! I was asked to make some cupcakes design for Irene's (Gan) Halloween Party on Sat, abit excited though, cos this is the first time I preparing for Halloween, I got no idea what to design except pumpkins :P Well, with some brain storming from Ruffy and some pictures from Irene, I managed to redraw what Irene requested on a piece of paper. If I can draw it, I should be able to produce it though. Here's my draft to her

On Friday, I started baking these cupcakes, but they didn't go very well in my first batch, I underestimated the amt of batter in each cupcakes, hence, I only gets 3/4 cup of cake after baking and worst still, THAT WERE MY LAST FEW PIECES OF PAPER LINERS LEFT!!!! Gosh, and time was running out, these cupcakes were for that day's collection!!

I had to thank Ruffy, she is really a kind soul, she was asking me something while I told her that I need to rush off to buy the cups and she offered to give me a lift as she was just nearby my area. She really saves my day, else if I go by train, it will take me 2 hrs to and fro the place. With her help, I managed to come back home within an hr.

Now this was the 2nd batch and this time round, I'd put more batter into it in order to get a almost full cup of cake. These was my 1st batch of cupcakes to Irene:-

I'm quite happy with the end result, cos the witch and the cats came out very nicely and also those spiders and cobwebs. Overall, I quite like and happy with this batch of cupcakes.

I've made a 2nd batch of cupcakes for her again on that very nite, bcos her hb had dropped the box and the designs are all smashed. Everything was in a rush, hence I didn't take a photo of it. :(

Pizza Pizza

I've been asked to bake some pizza, so yesterday, I went out with Ruffy to do some grocery shopping to prepare for pizza making tml. I've spent quite abit on the pizza toppings though.

I'm actually quite happy, this was my pizza in baking:-

The dough was self-made. I searched for recipe in the web and start to make changes to it in order to accomodate my quantity and time making it. It took me half a day to prepare for the dough, while waiting for the dough to prove, I prepared my buttercream icing which is going to be used for Halloween Cupcakes tml for Irene.

After 1 whole day of work, here's my pizza....the dough was abit thick though, but the taste was good. My hubby and even my mum loves it. :)

Self feeding

Finally, at 10 mths, Reyna knows how to self feed. She finally learn how to put biscuit inside her mouth and chew. See, she's so cute and excited all abt it:-

Winnie the Pooh...Hahaha

Today, I'm not cooking, so since I'm so free, must as well try the pooh bear cake (see, I told u, I'm addicted to baking :P) Haha, the effect turn out to be very funny......

First, I decide what cake to use, so, I've decided sponge cake, bcos personally, I do not like butter cake so try it on sponge cake first..... heee, then I mixed and I whipped then I put it in the oven ("for Baby and me", hahaha). This was how it looked like after 25 mins of baking :)

Then, after the gals slept, I started to do my cream, haha, again, I hated buttercream, so I use freshcream here. :) After a very long struggle, this is how the "pooh bear" looked like:

Haha, funny or not? The leg so skinny and the face so funny....hahaha....can't stop laughing.... ok, compare it with the original photo of how it should look like:

Err, any resemblance? Ok lah, I kena sai abit lah, not bad leh....heee. There is some resemblance lah, don't say don't have lah....hahaha..... My pooh bear is the skinny version, hahaha, so skinny :P Shall practise more. :P

Next round, when I'm in better mood and have lots of excess buttercream, I shall bake again, this time, with buttercake..... haha, Sorry Reyna, I think ur bday cake got to order liao....hahaha...unless no theme :P or I will have to brush up on my drawing liao....haha, but I'm happy lah, so cute :P

Fondant Fondant

My sis is going to have an interview next week, she asked me to wish her luck, so now, since she "offered" to be my "guinea pit" heee, I wanted to do a fondant cake soooooo much but nobody willing to be my guinea pig, so that's it lah, she shall be the one. hee, take this opportunity to wish her good luck too mah :)

Hiaz, I was very busy with this cake, cos I bake and prepare at the same time, hence got no time to take photograph till the very final of it. So busy leh, got to bake the cake lah, melt the Marshmallows, mix the marshmallows and also to whip up the buttercream icing and the final decoration. Really so much things to do leh..... heng ah, still managed to take the final output photo:-

What's my next project after? Hmm, let me think.....yes, trial Reyna's bday cake, Pooh Bear Novelty Pan. :) I've borrowed the cake pan and need to return in 2 weeks time, so got to trial fast before my pan is due for return, so my next cake is pooh bear!!!! :)

Addicted

Oh no, I think I'm addicted to baking!!! One day no baking my day will be so bored!!!!

Hee hee, so I've created Oreo Cupcakes after the massive baking of Rachel's bday cake!!

Here it goes: -

The recipe is from the website, but it's too sweet for me liao. The top is the cream cheese filling, haha, as the word "filling" means fill inside the cake and how come it's on top here leh? Cos, I had too much fillings...hahaha and I don't feel like using icing since it's already so sweet, so, cream cheese filling will neutralize the sweetness.

Well, the above is the end products and how does it look like b4 entering oven?

Ok, the next I"m going to do n try out is fondant. Wait for my next post bah :)
