Reyna Reyna

After reading PH's blog, I then remembered that my little nana also have her cuteness. :)

Every nite, when she's tired, she will run to me and cuddle me and pull me into the bedroom, but before that, she will kiss her daddy and her sisters goodnite and quickly run into my room. When she's in my bed, she will lie down and if I try to lie down without switching off the lights, she will kick me and point to the light and say "deng, deng"...... and while I walked to switch off the lights, she will wait happily in my bed and will chuckle cheekily after I off the lights.....then, she will ask for her "nei nei"..... and off to dreamland.......

When it's shower time, she will quickly run into the room, take her handkerchief and towel and say "sho.......wer" and walked into the bathroom.....

When it's meal time, she will find a place and seat down and wait for the food....as she does that, she will mumble "mum mum...."

Haha, and when her sister cries, she will look at us and ask "zou mo"...."ei....shame shame"....

Anyway, she is such a sweetie pie now.......

Macaroons

Yesterday, I did the macaroons, durian cake and durian swiss roll....

The macaroons wasn't very successful, there's no feet and it cracked while baking, however, the taste was good. I baked and eat at the same time. :P

I've also got the macaroons for Amrita (Fishandrice) while collecting the chocolate from her. It was so yummy and the look was so nice..... I shall try again to do it, maybe.....this Thursday (Labour Day)? :P

Lucky / Suay Day

Last Saturday, I had an "adventure". I went to IMM for dinner with my family and on my way to the carpark, Rachel wanted to go the toilet, so I brought her to the toilet at the 2nd floor beside Osim.

Happily, I just hang my wristlet on the door and since it's only she who was going to pee, I did not close the door. While I hanged up the wristlet, inside my head, I'm telling myself that don't forget about that Wristlet...... however....this pig brain of mind still forgets about it and walked out of the toilet empty handed.

I did not realise it until I reached home before I got out of the car (I usually will search for my wristlet before I got off). I quickly called my sister, who will by chance still in IMM (we went dinner together) went up to the toilet to search for me while I'm on my way back to IMM.

It's GONE!!! I'm not worried about the money, cos it's not much inside. What I'm worried is my PDL and my ATM card...these 2 will have to go through many procedure and queueing to apply for a new one.... but luckily, I went to the customer service counter to check if someone would have bring it there and I was really lucky, my wristlet was there with everything in tact...not a single cent lost.... I must thank the kind soul who had returned it to the customer service counter.......

Quitting

I will be officially quitting my breastfeeding career as I will be switching job soon.

My new job will be at Marina Bay and it requires a longer working hour and it will be at a job site, hence I won't be able to pump for her. And personally, I feel it's time for her to wean off.

I've finally found a job with better prospect....in future, I will be working at Marina Bay Sand Construction Site..... Hope I can handle and cope well, balancing both work and family....

I will sure miss my baking alot, but will still try to bake on weekends..... :)

Cute

Just came back from lunch and decided to blog about this.... I can't stop smiling at myself when I looked at the wristlet which Grace had bought for me from US.

Yesterday, to my astonishment, I saw a big "R" written on this wristlet and do you know who wrote it?? It's that Renise...... and when I questioned her about writing on my wristlet, she said: "I wrote my name on the bag, so that bag now belongs to me. R is for Renise, so that bag is mine now." Oh my gosh....so....cute.....she feels that once she had her initial written, her sister won't snatch from her and that wristlet is hers now....aiyo....

Though abit heartache for the damage done on the wristlet (branded leh), but that "R" on it makes me happy and proud of it. And now, we are "sharing" the wristlet. :)

Fruitful Weekend

The just past weekend was a fruitful one. I had 2 days to do all my baking and trialing.... so happy.... On Sat, after I came home from my mum's place, I started working on the Tiramisu which Shihui had ordered for her hubby. This time round, I used chocolate wafer to put at the side of the heart-shaped cake rather than leaving it plain with raw edges or lady's Finger:

After that, I've also tried the Mee Sua Kueh recommended by the forum friend and receipe courtesy of Pooh. But I didn't take a picture of it, was in a rush. :P

Then, on Sun, I finally had a chance to try the 65C Bread Loaf.

This was the loaf just out from the oven.
After slicing.
Close look at the texture, it feel so soft, but I'm wondering if I did anything wrong with it as I was expecting soft loaf with soft crust, but the outside of the bread was not as soft as I've expected. :P But it's still nice.

I've made another batch, thinking it may not be enough to just make 1 loaf, so this is another batch (Before baking):

I've made it like raisin plaits and the long roll contains cheese, the short one, 1 is cheese, 1 is raisin wraped up.

I'm hoping I'm able to have another fruitful weekend this week, but I doubt so, but I will try to bake chiffon cake for Reyna to eat on Monday. :)

First Competition

Yesterday, Rachel participated in a Colouring Competition organised by her school. It was a on the spot colouring competition and she won the 3rd Prize.

We reported at around 9.15am and upon receiving of the contest picture, we started to stack up chairs and luckily I've remembered to brought along a board as backing for her and she started doing the colouring. It was a headache for me, Rachel is a very curious and talkative gal, as she was colouring, her hand was moving, but her eyes were distracted by her surrounding and gosh, the picture was quite big and she needs to complete it by 11.30am!! I sat beside her all the time, keep asking her to concentrate, colour properly, discussing with her about the picture, which part is the clothes, which part is the legs and body so that she knows what colour to fill it in. The picture consists of 4 person (4 community), 2 flats, 1 kite, 1 stretch of bushes and 1 big sky.... by 10.30am, she only coloured 3 person and she's still yaking away, taking her own sweet time!! I got nervous and started losing my patience (it was hot and humid also), I started scolding her that time is running out and yet she's still taking her own sweet time. She struggled, her mum, me, keep pushing her....rushing her....and finally, she managed to finished her colouring on time. (Cos she also got stressed as most of the people had already handed up the picture :P)

During the competition, we saw parents, family, brothers and sisters helping out to help their kids to colour the picture, which I felt it was unfair, however, it's just a small kids competition and I can't be bothered much. Finally, it's was the result time, Rachel got 3rd prize, but personally lah, I feel the 1st 2 prizes was a kelong! How can a K1 student coloured till so nicely w/o going out of the line and the stroke was so firm and precised. One of them even can draw the outline of the picture to create a different colour tones. It's not that Rachel got 3rd that I'm not happy with, cos Rachel still colour out of the line and some of the colour smudge as she colours, but hers was all done by herself. I'm actually proud of her.

This picture was actually her receiving prize (1 plague and $5 Popular Voucher) from Dr Ong Chit Chung:

I want to add, this is her first competition, it was quite enjoying for me and I hope I can accompany her more for such competition. Btw, I think she also enjoyed my company as I've never accompanied her to do her colouring till her completion of the picture because she always loose her concentration and run away from the table. :P

Rachel Vs Reyna

Can you see who is who??

Trip to Malacca

As I've mentioned before, here are some of the photos we took in Malacca during the Good Friday holidays:
See, Rachel fetching her sisters...(Pose only, she can't even reached the petal)

Mummy seems to enjoy the trishaw ride more than me.... I'm tired... (The lady beside is her Da Gu)
Off we go.... for a 10mins ride in trishaw!! Poor uncles, all heavily loaded :P

Singapore Flyers

I've never dreamt that I will take Singapore Flyer so soon. Initially when it was constructing, I told every one that I won't want to take that ride as it's so expensive and scary. Thinking and wondering if the structure will be strong and safe. :P Imagine, $30 for 30 mins ride.....

However, I or rather we (whole family) were fortunate to ride on that for free....Thanks to Ting, who buy us the tickets for the ride on her birthday celebration last Sat. Thank you, Ting.

The view to me wasn't magnificent, maybe because we took the ride at nite and can't really see much except the lights, nothing, but lights everywhere. I think I will prefer a day ride and then I'm able to see the landscape of Singapore and even Indonesia as reported by some others who had took the ride during the day..... Here are some pictures of the view....

Reyna was enjoying the view throughout until it was coming down as the other side of the wheel do not have much lights and she was already tired after concentrating for half of the revolution....She's not scare at all!!! She was fancinated by the lights and the view! I do have a photo of her enjoying the view, but it's in my handphone. Will update here soon.
Here's another photo. It's a stimulation photo which we took before taking the ride. The backdrop was done by computer effect and this photo cost us $15...It's ex, but ok lah, serve as a memoral also good. :)
